NZ Art Show Invites Artists to Apply for the Great New Zealand Art Experience

Birds Eye View of 2013

Birds Eye View of 2013

Exposure to around 10,000 art lovers and a chance to win $5,000 are two great reasons why New Zealand artists are urged to apply for the NZ Art Show 2014. But applicants better be quick because the closing date for the most popular exhibition categories looms closer.

The NZ Art Show, the largest curated sale of New Zealand art, is currently accepting artist applications for the 2014 show: applications for Single Artist Walls and Solo Panels close March 27.

The show dates are July 25 – 27 at TSB Bank Arena, Wellington, with a Gala Opening on July 24.

Carla Russell, the show’s Executive Director since 2005, encourages all New Zealand artists to view the show as a primary platform to showcase their art.

‘With the huge number of attendees coming through, it’s quite possibly the best audience any artist – emerging or otherwise - could hope for,’ says Russell.

The show has helped propel many part-time hobbyist artists to full-time careers and some artists have had their big break as a direct result of the show.

Now into its 11th year, the show has proven itself as a reputable art sale showcasing some of the finest emerging and established New Zealand artists. Every year the TSB Bank Arena buzzes into life over the three-day course of the show as around 10,000 art lovers marvel at the stunning artworks on offer.

The show makes it easy and affordable for any New Zealander to own a piece of original New Zealand art and has become one of the most popular places for art lovers looking for that something special to add to or start their collection. It features around 3,000 original artworks by some 300 artists; all art is for sale and the average price is around $650. There’s something for everyone and every budget.

Show Days: July 25 – 27, Fri - Sun
Gala Evening: July 24, Thursday
TSB Bank Arena, Queens Wharf, Wellington
