THE MAGAZINE
Threaded Magazine has been running for 3 years now. It is a niche magazine which extends student design visibility across design schools and potential employers bridging the gap between young designers and established designers.
Through profiling art & design students, encouraging academic and industry support Threaded Magazine attempts to appeal to the broader design community/ practitioner on both an informative and educational level.
In one sense it provides a space for new designers and writers to see what their peers are doing as well as establish a name for themselves, while also providing a space for leading designers and writers to discuss current ideas and concerns in culture.
Threaded Magazine has a critical engagement with all aspects of design by celebrating and reviewing regional projects, events and exhibitions in New Zealand’s contemporary design and visual arts practice. The magazine has survived from the generous support of Designworks Enterprise IG, Spicers Paper, Unitec New Zealand and Panprint Limited, and of course colleagues, friends and students who participated with content and criticism.
